Little Blue Trace Trail
July 26 - 6:45pm

We will meet behind Charlies Restaurant and hike out and back about 5 miles (or less if desired - we can turn around anywhere). Ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery optional afterward. Have had no problem with bugs so far, but bug spray might be a good idea.

Directions: Take I-70 east past Independence Center (Hyw 291 N, I-470 S) to exit 17 (Little Blue Parkway). Go left (N) across freeway bridge to first stoplight (Jackson). From here one can see Charlies on NW corner (left). Turn left (W) on Jackson and immediately right (N) into Charlie's parking lot (straight ahead to back left).

KCOC Annual Summer Picnic
August 15 - 2pm

This year, the annual potluck picnic will be held at Heritage Park in Johnson County. Please bring your favorite dish to share. The club will cover the cost of the shelter, tableware and coffee. The park has paved and unpaved trails, and offers fishing with proper license.

This year, instead of collecting money, we will be collecting canned goods and nonperishable items to donate to a local food pantry. We have reserved Shelter House #1, on the Northeast side of the park. Please use the 160th Street entrance off of Pflumm. You can find a park map at: www.jcprd.com.
