Who we are
The Kansas City Outdoor Club, Inc. (KCOC) is a nonprofit, non-political
organization of over 200 outdoor enthusiasts from throughout the Kansas
City metropolitan area. Its purpose is to offer outdoor recreational
opportunities and to educate and train its members in outdoor skills.
All club activities are scheduled and led by members on a volunteer
basis.
History
Originally organized in 1970 by the Johnson County Parks and Recreation
District as the Johnson County Outdoor Society, the group became an
independent organization in 1980. In 1986 the name was changed to The
Kansas City Outdoor Club, and the club was incorporated in 1995.
What we do
Club members enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities including:

- Ice Skating
All ages and skill levels are welcome.

- Camping for Women at Red Buffalo Ranch in Kansas

Member profile
There are approximately 200 members who are interested in outdoor
activities and residing in the Kansas City area.
- 70% female
- 30% male
- 88% between the ages of 40 and 65
Most members are referred by a friend. We also grow our membership
through Web site traffic, Communiversity courses, and the distribution
of extra newsletters and club brochures.
Advertising Opportunities
There are numerous ways that advertisers can reach our members.
Combining a couple of avenues will prove most effective and is highly
recommended. We can work with you to achieve a plan within your budget
that promotes your product or service.

to 75% of club members: $20 ea
Monthly newsletter of current activities and trip reviews
distributed 10 times per year via mail and E-mail:
1/4 page ad in 10 issues; $200
1/8 page ad in 10 issues; $100
Presentations at monthly meetings will be offered to print
advertisers. (We reserve the right to deny presentations or meetings
that are not of relevance to our members.)
Our membership roster (distributed twice per year) can carry your
message for $50 per year, or $25 each (exclusive sponsorship)
Scheduled demonstrations from your location can be added to the
schedule for $60.* (Free to print advertisers)
